The Mesozoic: Terms of Use

The Mesozoic is an app about dinosaurs and the other animals of their time, made by Vladimirs Matusevics ("we"). These terms cover the app and this website. They are short and in plain words. If you look after a child who uses the app, please read them for them.

The app

You get the app from Apple's App Store, so Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to it, including what it says about warranties and liability. These terms add a few things that are special to this app.

Purchases

• The app is free to download. Some extras can be bought inside the app, such as a subscription.
• Every purchase is made, renewed, cancelled and refunded through Apple, with your Apple Account. We never see your payment details.
• A subscription renews by itself unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can cancel it any time in the Settings app: your name → Subscriptions. A free trial, where one is offered, becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• Refunds are decided by Apple: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded, what it already gave you stays, and nothing more comes from it.
• Readers under 13, or who haven't told the app their age, see a grown-up's question before any purchase.

What you collect

Your cards, eggs, hatchlings, stickers, volcanic ash and badges live in the app, on your device and in your own iCloud account if you use it. They are part of the game: they have no money value, and they can't be sold or swapped for money. Deleting the app without an iCloud copy deletes them. We may add, change or retire games, seasons and rewards as the app grows.

The facts, and Tiko

The facts in the app are written carefully from scientific sources, but science keeps finding new things and we can make mistakes. The app is for learning and fun, not expert advice. The chats with Tiko and the creatures are written on your device by Apple's model and can get things wrong; tell us when they do. If you spot a mistake anywhere, write to support@mesozoicapp.com.

Please don't

• copy the app's paintings, words or recordings to sell them or publish them as your own;
• break, take apart or get around the app, its purchases or our servers;
• use the app or this website to harm anyone.

The paintings, words, recordings and the app itself belong to us. Using the app doesn't give you any rights in them beyond enjoying the app.

This website

The "Tell me at launch" form keeps your email address for one email when the app is out, and then deletes it. The privacy policy says how.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top says when they last changed, and an important change will be mentioned in the app's What's New.
